Welcome to Autumn and this edition of our (very overdue) deadline enewsletter.
As well as working on some exciting client projects, part of our sponsorship of 'The Leaders Institute of South Australia (LISA)' saw our Managing Director, Sean Heylen, give a presentation to current Governor's Leadership Foundation participants on current and past trends in the interactive media space. Other presenters and co-LISA sponsors were Bec Tape from communikate et al and Peter Joy from Jam.
Sean presented an overview on what the Internet has done to customer interaction via:
- 3 case studies of Deadline's experience with Community CPS, Hickinbotham Homes
and Sealink
- Some recent industry stats
- A definition and overview of social media
So what's the most important aspect when considering using social media? Authenticity.
There was some authentic and robust debate regarding old and new forms of advertising between Sean and Peter, an advertising agency exec, dividing the room!
The following email was received from Julie Worsman, Coordinator GLF Program:
"This is a personal note to say a HUGE thank you to you for your presentations and generous discourse for our GLF program session “Making a Splash” on 13th April, 2010. I really appreciate your involvement in the GLF – especially given all the other very important commitments that you no doubt have in your lives! The effort that you all put into your preparation was very evident and really paid off in a challenging, interesting and entertaining session that went superbly well and was very much appreciated by all who attended. The feedback received since this session has been nothing short of fantastic and all of you are to be commended." The full presentation (in powerpoint format) is available for download. If you wish to discuss any aspect of it further with Sean, please don't hesitate to be in touch - 8359 2994 or sean@deadline.net.au
